BOILING HEAT TRANSFER FROM PLAIN AND INTEGRAL-FIN TUBES TO POOL OF TERNARY LIQUID MIXTURES
Abstract
This investigation has been carried out with a view to
understand the pool boiling characteristics of non-azeotropic ternary mixture of acetone-isopropanol-water at atmospheric pressure. The heat transfer coefficient on plain surface tube is enhanced, if its surface is finned. Data analysis also establishes that h/h id varies with | Y−X | with a regular trend, independent of tube surface geometry. Further, it is also noted that correlation due to Schlunder with hid based on Stephan -Abdelsalam correlation correlates the experimental data related to plain surface tube better than the Palen-Smail correlation does.
