VAPOUR BUBBLES GROWTH RATE AND HEAT TRANSFER INTENSITY AT SUBCOOLED WATER BOILING

Abstract

Investigation results of the process mechanism and intensity of heat transfer at subcooled water boiling are presented. Vapour bubbles dimensions dmax, their generation frequency f and the cycle average growth rate w"=dmax·f are determined. At the same subcooling and pressures the values of boiling heat transfer coefficients α are defined. Relationships between w" and α are stated. As a result of investigation the process peculiarities are cleared up and the design criterional equation for determination of α at pool boiling of subcooled water is grounded.
