THE INFLUENCE OF DIFFUSION AND THERMAL DIFFUSION ON STATIONARY FREE CONVECTION HEAT TRANSFER IN GAS MIXTURES
Аннотация
Free convection heat transfer from a heated surface to a gas mixture can be accompanied by appreciable separational effects caused by thermal diffusion. In a nonreacting mixture this influences heat transfer only insignificantly, so that the well-known equations for pure gases may be adopted. In chemically reacting mixtures, however, heat transfer is markedly influenced by diffusion phenomena. The effective coefficient of thermal diffusion and the heat transfer coefficient are usually much higher than in nonreacting gases.
