AN EXPERIMENTAL AND NUMERICAL STUDY OF HEAT TRANSFER TO LIQUID DROPS RISING IN A VISCOUS LIQUID
Resumo
Heat transfer to liquid drops moving in a second immiscible liquid was studied experimentally and numerically. In the numerical study, the drop interface was assumed to be either rigid, fully mobile or partially mobile. It was found that the circulation in the drop interior depends strongly upon the mobility of the drop interface. Experimental values of the internal Nusselt number and of the temperature along the centerline of drops agree best with the numerically obtained values if no or very low mobility of the drop interfaces was assumed.
