Experimental study of convection in the wake of an inclined rectangular plate
Resumo
This paper describes an experimental investigation of convective heat transfer over the back ofan inclined
rectangular plate in cross flow. From time-averaged data, the local heat transfer distribution is shown to be very
sensitive to plate orientation but almost independent ofv elocity in the range studied. Time-resolved data exhibit
very strong heat transfer fluctuations generally, with slight evidence of periodicity associated with vortex shedding in the wake. However, the heat transfer fluctuations in the wake are mainly characteristic of random, small scale turbulence, as reported previously for a cylinder in cross flow.
