A Natural Convection Inverse Problem of Simultaneous Estimation of Two Boundary Heat Fluxes in Rectangular Cavities
Resumo
This paper deals with the use of the conjugate gradient method of function estimation for the simultaneous
identification of the boundary heat fluxes at the vertical walls of a rectangular cavity. The physical problem
involves transient two-dimensional laminar natural convection inside the cavity and the functions are estimated
with no a priori information regarding its functional form. The accuracy of the present inverse problem approach
is examined by using simulated temperature measurements containing random errors. The effects of the number
and location of temperature sensors on the inverse problem solution are also addressed in the paper.
