HEAT TRANSFER TO LAMINAR FLOW OF NON-NEWTONIAN PSEUDOPLASTIC FLUIDS IN TUBES
Resumo
An analytical study of developing and developed laminar flow of pseudoplastic fluids inside a circular tube with two boundary conditions, uniform wall heat flux (UHF) and constant wall temperature (UWT) is reported. For UWT, predictions were obtained for heating (UWTH) as well as for cooling (UWTC). In each case, a comprehensive correlation was devised to account for non-Newtonian effects and temperature-dependent consistency index effects. The numerical predictions are in very good agreement with available experimental data.
