NUMERICAL INVESTIGATION ON 3−D TURBULENT NATURAL CONVECTION INCLUDING RADIATION FOR PARTIAL OPENING ENCLOSURE
要約
Numerical simulations are presented for laminar and turbulent natural convection in a partially open enclosure. Computations were performed within the domain of an enclosure in order to show the thermal radiation and three dimensional effects on the flow fields and heat transfer characteristics. The results were shown for Planck number of 0.17 with partial opening being Ra = 104, 108, and 1010. Considering the flow is buoyancy-driven from the heated wall, and the buoyancy is not much affected by the further outside region from the opening, the numerical computations were performed without an outer region by the particular boundary treatments on the flow velocity and temperature. Three-dimensional approach and thermal radiation had effects on recirculation and temperature gradients in both laminar and turbulent cases of an enclosure. Nusselt numbers along the hot wall for different Rayleigh numbers (Ra=104 and 108) were graphically demonstrated for Planck number of 0.17.
