IMPROVED THERMAL DESIGNS FOR A CYLINDRICAL ELECTRICAL IGNITER
要約
A miniature explosive igniter must be designed to heat an explosive powder sufficiently for a self-sustaining deflagration before circuit failure can occur. Functionally, electrical current flows radially outward through a thin-film circular disk until Joulean or resistive heating initiates the explosive powder in contact with the disk. Thermal analyses to identify the best design candidate require solutions of the transient heat equation with source term. These solutions of the heat equation are obtained by numerical integration with the Du Fort-Frankel differencing method which is both explicit and unconditionally stable.
