要約

Developing laminar mixed convection between vertical parallel plates with uniform but asymmetric heating is investigated numerically using a finite difference method. When forced convection aids free convection, a relation between maximum wall temperature and Reynolds number allows to determine the prevailing natural, mixed and forced convection zones. When forced convection opposes free convection the fluid may flow downwards if forced convection is strong enough and arises from a mechanical device. Relations between Reynolds number and forced convection parameter are given and discussed in both cases where fluid flows either upwards or downwards.
