Experimental investigation of He-II film boiling on vertical specimens of O.1 mm and 0.3 mm in diameter and 40 mm long has revealed some new effects. Using pure conduction model through a cylindrical vapour layer a relationship for the calculation of heat transfer intensity at noiseless film boiling on small diameter vertical cylinders has been obtained. On the basis of the solution of the system of equations for a laminar boundary layer with variable thermal properties a relationship for the calculation of noiseless film boiling on vertical heat transfer surfaces has been obtained.
