Advances in the Design and Analysis Methods of Shell-and-Tube Heat Exchangers with Condensation Shell-Side
Résumé
A theoretical and a numerical method for the analysis of flow and heat transfer distributions (2D+D) in shell-and-tube heat exchangers with condensation shell-side is presented, applicable to a wide spectrum of feed-water heaters configurations (horizontal axis, full-plate baffles). A computer program (CONDOR) making use of the Finite Differences Method and based on the above methods is described, allowing the simulation of the local and global behaviours of feed-water heaters, thus allowing improvement actions in the lay-out of the tubes or suggestions of devices useful to minimize or eliminate the local air blanketing. Information is given of the experimental program for the computer program validation.
