EXPERIMENTAL MEASUREMENTS OF IRRADIATION FOR A CYLINDER-PLATE SYSTEM
Résumé
Experimental measurements of local irradiation at various locations on the surface of a flat plate are presented. The plate was maintained at ambient temperature, while a long cylinder having its axis parallel to the plate was maintained at a higher temperature. The cylinder surface was smooth electroplated gold, while two different plate surfaces were used, black paint and electroplated gold. The resulting thermopile measurements are compared with analytical predictions obtained by solving the diffuse model integral equations. The largest deviations between the measurements and the diffuse model predictions are approximately 40%, and are attributed primarily to non-diffuse directional reflection characteristics.
