MODELING OF ACTIVE-CONTROLLED THERMOSYPHONS FOR WATER RECOVERY APPLICATIONS
Sinopsis
This study presents the concept of the active-controlled thermosyphon with polymer tube on the evaporator side for the recovery of water vapor in the flue gas of the natural gas combined-cycle (NGCC) power plant. The water vapor is condensed on the tubes shell side cooled by evaporation of the water liquid falling film inside the tubes, which is co-flow with the gas outside the tubes. The corresponding heat and mass transfer process was modeled by the ε-NTU analytical method. The results are discussed and compared with the lab-scale humid-air condensation experiment.
