RADIATION AND FORCED CONVECTION INTERACTION IN THERMALLY-DEVELOPING LAMINAR FLOW THROUGH A CIRCULAR PIPE
Sinopsis
The interaction of radiation and forced convection in thermally-developing steady laminar flow through an isothermal circular pipe with an opaque, gray and diffuse surface is investigated. The fluid is assumed to be gray, isotropically scattering, and absorbing, but not emitting. A solution to the energy equation is developed in the form of a Fourier series, and the radiation part is analyzed by the FN-method. The effects of the conduction-radiation parameter, optical radius of the pipe, single-scattering albedo and the reflectivity of the pipe surface on the local Nusselt number are studied. The results are presented in graphical forms.
