IMPROVEMENT OF A CAPACITY OF A PLATE FIN TUBED HEAT EXCHANGER BY THERMAL ANALYSIS CONSIDERING THERMAL INTERACTION BETWEEN PIPES BY HEAT CONDUCTION IN FINS
Abstract
For the improvement of the heat exchanging capacity of a plate fine tubed heat exchanger , the influence of heat conduction through fins was investigated.
The effect of the heat conduction was calculated using a thermal network method applying an equivalent specific heal model to the refrigerant as it is phase changed. The calculated result was verified with an experiment which measured the capacity and refrigerant temperature distribution of the heat exchanger.
The calculation predicted that the heat conduction through fins has an influence on the capacity of a heat exchanger. By separating fins to remove heat conduction, improvement of around 3% of the total capacity was obtained by experiment
