Measurement of the temperature distribution over a combusting droplet in monodisperse stream using two colors laser-induced fluorescence
Abstract
Spray combustion modeling requires reliable experimental data on the energetic budget of evaporating and
combusting droplets in their gaseous environment. The droplet temperature is a key point in these investigations.
The tow colors laser-induced fluorescence has been demonstrated as space averaged droplet temperature
measurement technique. In this paper, the possibility to extend this technique in order to obtain the temperature
distribution within the droplet is presented. It may provide valuable information about the heat diffusion in the
liquid droplet, during the heating phase. The technique is tested on a combusting monodisperse droplet stream,
with 200 μm droplet diameter.
