THE EFFECT ON LOCAL HEAT TRANSFER OF BOWING OF PINS IN A CLUSTER
Abstrakt
An electrochemical mass transfer technique has been used to measure local transfer rates on bowed pins in a 7-pin cluster. The pins were twice full scale models of rib-roughened AGR fuel elements. The types of bows tested comprised two pins bowing towards each other, one pin bowing towards another, two pins bowing towards a third. Peripheral and axial distributions of the local Stanton numbers were obtained for different relative bows and different Reynolds numbers. The relative changes in St are given as polynomial functions of the relative bow.
