TRANSFER OF HEAT FROM AN ISOTHERMAL FLAT PLATE TO A TWO-DIMENSIONAL WALL JET
Abstrakt
Measurements of local heat transfer coefficients between an isothermal flat plate and a two-dimensional wall jet are presented, for exit Reynolds numbers ranging from 190 to 16620 and dimensionless wall length from 0 to 80. Also included are the heat transfer coefficients on the flat plate before discharge and their evaluation in terms of flow conditions. The role of mixing-induced turbulence on wall jet heat transfer rates is clearly shown. Data previously available for fully turbulent wall jets are compared with the present results.
