RADIATIVE HEAT TRANSFER THROUGH OPENINGS OF VARIABLE CROSS SECTIONS
Abstrakt
Radiative heat exchange through openings of variable cross section is investigated and the general problem is formulated. A solution to the integral equation of temperature distribution is developed in form of an infinite integral series and evaluated for the axisymmetrical opening. Numerical results are presented for the right circular cone for the various geometrical parameters involved.
Results show that the emissive power distributions in cylindrical openings and short and wide openings are all almost linear, and the effect of reradiation from the side walls on the heat transfer by radiation through openings varies from zero to an amount four times as high as the direct radiation between the ends of the openings.
