LOCAL HEAT TRANSFER CHARACTERISTICS OF TWO-DIMENSIONAL IMPINGING AIR JETS-THEORY AND EXPERIMENT
Abstrakt
An experimental and theoretical study of local heat transfer under a two-dimensional impinging air jet is described. Local heat transfer distributions were measured over a wide range of jet Reynolds numbers (4000 to 100,000) and jet to surface heights (2 to 16 slot widths). Good agreement between theory and experiment was found, except in the stagnation region for jet to surface heights greater than 6 slot widths.
Here free turbulence effects augment the laminar type stagnation region heat transfer rates.
