THE MINIMUM HEAT FLUX DURING FILM BOILING
Abstrakt
A theoretical analysis of the heat and mass transfer in the vapor layer formed on a flat horizontal wall during film boiling is performed. In particular the second order perturbations of the temperature and velocity fields are considered. From this the heat flux at which the liquid comes into contact with the wall can be determined. It is found that this calculated heat flux corresponds well with the minimum heat flux. This work therefore presents a theoretical determination of the minimum heat flux, taking into account the thermal properties of the heater wall.
