THE PELTIER ANEMOMETER
Abstract
A new type of anemometer is presented: The Peltier Anemometer. This anemometer allows measurements in very low fluid flow (0-3 m/s in air) whith a good accuracy (0.5 cm/s). It is suitable for the flow where the natural convection is present.
The sensor works owing to the thermoelectric effects, especially the Peltier and Seebeck ones. The temperature increase remains lower than 15 K (with 4 mW Joule power dissiped). Therefore low velocities measurements can be carried out whithout any significant perturbation. Easy compensating technique is used which give reliable performance over temperature variations.
