A PHYSICAL MODEL OF SUBCOOLED AND LOW QUALITY FILM BOILING OF WATER IN VERTICAL FLOW AT ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE
Abstract
A two-fluid model is developed to predict the liquid and vapor parameters as well as the surface temperature of a heated tube during subcooled inverted annular film boiling. The key feature of the model is that the developments of the thermal boundary layers both in the liquid core and in the vapor film are considered. The model predicts correctly the effects of flow, inlet subcooling and axial location.
