摘要

Nucleate pool boiling heat transfer on copper tubes has already been well investigated. However, various materials, such as stainless steel, with different thermophysical properties are used in technical applications. Considering the influence of the wall material on heat transfer is still challenging due to complex heat transfer mechanisms, and existing methods are mainly based on comparative experimental data. In this study an experimental investigation of nucleate pool boiling heat transfer using a copper and a stainless steel test tube is presented. For the characterisation of the wall materials, temperature-dependent thermophysical properties are determined by measuring thermal diffusivity and heat capacity. The influence of the wall material on nucleate pool boiling heat transfer is analysed and compared to the predicted wall material influence in common heat transfer correlations. It is shown that the heat transfer coefficient ratio between stainless steel and copper ranges from 0.81 to 0.96. Furthermore, the influence of the wall material is dependent on the reduced pressure, the heat flux at low reduced pressures, and the refrigerant. Heat transfer correlations do not take these dependencies into account and are still associated with significant uncertainties.
