STABILITY OF COMBINED NATURAL AND FORCED CROSS FLOW IN AN INCLINED SLOT
摘要
Effects of suction on the stability of combined natural and forced cross flow in an inclined narrow slot are investigated analytically for the type of instabilities occuring as longitudinal rolls and transverse waves. The studied model was simulated by a uniform cross flow through the porous walls of the slot and two different boundary conditions at the hot wall, namely prscribed temperature and heat flux. At the cold wall, the temperature is maintained uniform. The results show that, beside the strong effect of suction on the stability criterian, the transition angle at which the instability changes from longitudinal rolls to transverse waves is significantly shifted towards the horizontal position as suction increases. The transverse waves are found more sensitive to the change in the thermal boundary conditions than the longitudinal rolls.
