Аннотация

We report the preparation of a high thermal conductive thin graphite film with a thickness about 2.1 ?m using a thin polymer film as a start material. The a-b plane thermal diffusivity of the film was measured using the spot heating Ångström method and the laser flash method at room temperature. The starting polyimide film was treated at higher than 3000 °C to obtain high quality, free-standing, and large area (> 25 cm2) graphite film with 2.1 ????m thickness. The obtained graphite film was found to be composed of highly oriented graphite layers in a-b plane. The thermal diffusivity of the film in the a-b plane was 1.0 × 10-3 m2s-1. The results suggested that the thin graphite film has great potential as heat dissipating materials and can be used for the thermal management solutions in future electronic devices.
