Аннотация

An analysis is made of the steady-state conjugated heat transfer between a heated solid sphere and the surrounding laminar flow. The case of the uniform rate of heat generation inside and/or on the surface of the sphere is considered. The problem is solved numerically in the range of intermediate Peclet numbers (0 < Pe < 10,000) for two patterns of fluid motion past the sphere: a) creeping flow (Re ≤ 1), and b) intermediate Reynolds numbers 1 < Re ≤ 100. The data on the mean Nusselt numbers, distributions of surface temperature and heat flux are compared with those in the limiting cases of the constant surface temperature, and of constant heat flux from the sphere’s surface.
