ANALYSIS ON THE EVAPORATING MENISCUS OSCILLATION
Аннотация
Transport phenomena associated with slightly superheating from below, a stationary meniscus formed by an inclined partially submerged copper plate was studied analytically. Due to the presence of a high evaporation region within the extended meniscus, a two dimensional linear stability analysis for the ease of overstability was done in order to predice the oscillation frequency observed experimentally. The complex stability equations were solved numerically using an appropriate mean velocity and temperature profile derived previously in an integral approach. The physical parameters are the Reynolds number, representing liquid flow into the meniscus, the Marangoni number, signifying thermal-capillary convection, and the Biot number, illustrating the importance of free surface heat removal in the form of evaporation.
