Аннотация

In-tube condensation tests for R22 and R407C are reported for a microfin tube. The experimental runs to measure heat transfer coefficients and pressure drop are carried out at an average saturation temperature of 40°C, at mass velocities ranging from 100 to 800 kg/(m2s), over the vapour quality range from 0.8 through 0.2. Heat transfer and pressure drop measurements are compared against performance of a smooth tube under the same operating conditions, to enlighten advantages and penalties of the microfin tube as compared to the smooth tube. The heat transfer enhancement depends very much on the mass velocity in the tube, and it is also affected by the zeotropic characteristics of the mixture for R407C. Comparisons with the models available in the literature are reported for R22 and R407C data. For the zeotropic mixture, a suitable correction is used in the heat transfer prediction procedure given for pure fluids.
