Аннотация

The effectiveness of hot air jets provided for demisting purposes depends On both heat and mass transfer characteristics. Experiments have shown that the effective temperature for heat transfer can be expressed in terms of the ambient and nozzle exit temperatures by the use of a mixing coefficient which depends on nozzle/wall geometry; the same coefficient can be applied to determine the effective partial pressure for mass transfer. A simple method of determining this mixing coefficient, and the associated heat transfer coefficient, is described; measured and predicted demisting performances are compared.
