Аннотация

Transient forced convective heat transfer from a turbulent boundary layer flow over a flat plate with appreciable thermal capacity and resistance is studied analytically. In this analysis, the flow is assumed to be steady and incompressible, the solid plate is subjected to a uniform step heat input at the lower surface. Numerical results for the fluid-solid interfacial temperature and heat transfer coefficient are presented. The limiting solutions for the case in which the thermal resistance is negligibly small are compared with previous theoretical predictions and with available experimental data.
