The complete Navier-Stokes and energy equations that describe the combined heat transfer in the laminar incompressible flow due to a rotating disk can be treated exactly provided that the similarity transformations due to Karman and Millsaps & Pohlhausen are generalized. The resulting system of seven ordinary differential equations is iteratively treated by numerical means for the case of a constant disk temperature, a fixed Prandtl number and a set of Grashof numbers to show the relative interplay between free and forced convection. An interesting result is the oscillatory behavior of the velocity components whenever bouyancy is taken into consideration.
