Аннотация

During the initial flashing period the pressure in pools of water superheated by sudden decompression remains nearly constant, and above the blowdown pressure in the space above the pool surface. This behaviour is general and has been stated as a rule of flashing. It has been shown that when the actual internal liquid pressure is carefully followed and correlated with a corresponding spherical bubble growth, and these instantaneous values are used in an appropriate bubble growth model, agreement is obtained between experiment and model over the observed range of temperatures from 120 to 280° F and of pressures from 1 to 50 in. hg.
