Resumo

Performances of four configurations of micro jet-dimple cooling system, i.e., concave-inline, concave-staggered, convex-inline, and convex-staggered, were evaluated by three-dimensional Navier-Stokes analysis. The steady incompressible laminar flow and conjugate heat transfer in the cooling system were solved numerically. The numerical results for the impingement jet cooling system on the flat surface were validated using experimental data. The Nusselt number (Nu) on the cooling surface was assessed to compare the cooling performances among the four jet-dimpled cooling systems. The convex-staggered dimpled system showed highest spatially averaged Nu, while the concave-inline showed worst.
