Resumo

With modern laser-diagnostic techniques it is now possible to image the detailed flame structure inside of turbulent flames with high temporal and spatial resolution. This allows to analyze the interaction between turbulent flow field, chemical reaction and molecular transport of heat and species. Thus, modeling concepts can be verified experimentally, which has been done for different burning regimes of turbulent premixed flames. From two- and partly from three-dimensional measurements thermal gradients and flame thickness distributions have been determined leading to flame front thicknesses being in contrast to expectations of models in the frame of the Borghi diagram.
