Resumo

Numerical computations are made of two dimensional axisymmetric laminar jet diffusion flames, taking account of multicomponent diffusion and detailed chemical kinetics. H2 is used as the fuel. Availability of multicomponent diffusion calculation is investigated by comparisons among the results with exact multicomponent diffusion coefficients, the results with effective binary diffusivity and experimental results. In addition, the effect of thermal diffusion is investigated.
The results with exact multicomponent diffusion coefficients are close to experimental results for major species. Consideration of the effect of thermal diffusion improves the accuracy of the prediction. The accuracy of the simplified effective binary diffusivity, becomes worse in the region where approximations are not proper.
