Resumo

Two-phase behaviors of water evaporation in molten alloy are visualized by neutron radiography and are image processed. Vigorous evaporation is observed with a high-speed video camera. The rising velocities of the bubbles are measured by correlational analysis. The required depth of the molten alloy to complete the evaporation can be estimated by analyses of the images. Relations between the required depth to complete the evaporation and superheat temperature of molten alloy, obtained through heat transfer experiments (Kinoshita et al., 1995) were confirmed by the visualization. Heat transfer performance based on the equivalent spherical surface area of two-phase bubble is evaluated.
