Resumo

A contraction fin, which plays the role of an extended surface, the acceleration effect and the wall jet, is proposed in the present study. The local heat transfer was examined experimentally on a heated surface with and without fins. The effects of fins depend on the contraction angle and the ratio of fin occupation across the section. Thermal performances by the Nusselt number ratio with and without fins at constant pumping power and the entropy generation were compared with those of another fins. Flow visualization was also performed for corresponding to the local heat transfer, by the smoke wire method.
