Resumo

A finite element model is developed which calculates two- and three-dimensional viscous and inviscid compressible flow with heat transfer. A shock-capturing Petrov-Galerkin formulation is used to produce stabilizing anisotropic balancing diffusion in each of the governing equations. The algorithm is accurate and stable for high-speed compressible flow, and its performance is illustrated through several numerical examples. The algorithm has been run on computers ranging from PCs to vector and massively parallel supercomputers.
