Resumo

This work includes mathematical models and computational study of circulating flows of coolant in circular and annular tubes with helical inserts of varying cross sections, in the intertube space of heat exchangers with helical coil tube bundles and in oriented porous structures, such as bundles of helical swirled plates, tapes or ovals and assemblies of fuel rods with helical swirled wire spacers. Solution of the first and the second problems based on the application of anisotropy properties of flow resistance.
A moment of the force acting on fluid from solid phase (inner torque) exists in oriented porous structures. This inner torque acts so that an average stress tensor becomes asymmetric and a new term proportional to curl of torque appears in an equation for averaged velocity. The existing of this term causes overall circulation in the bundle. The inner torque was estimated and velocity distribution was calculated for the assemblies of the fuel rods with helical swirled wire spacers.
