A MODEL FOR SURFACE WETTABILITY EFFECT ON TRANSITION BOILING HEAT TRANSFER
Resumo
A model for the surface wettability effect on critical heat flux as well as on transition boiling has been developed. It is postulated that the surface wettability effect on critical heat flux and transition boiling results from the variation of the area fraction of vapor stems in the macrolayer, which bridges the hovering bubble and the heating surface. The model predicts all the trends observed in experiments. It is therefore believed that the present model catches the right theme of the surface wettability effect on transition boiling heat transfer.
