Resumo

Heat transfer from an isothermal circular cylinder is investigated when the cylinder vibrates in simple harmonic motion in the direction of an oncoming flow and the amplitude of the vibrating velocity is small compared with the oncoming flow velocity. The fluctuation of local heat transfer coefficient is measured instantaneously by an optical method, and theoretically calculated by a power-series expansion method in the both ranges of low and high frequencies respectively. These series solutions are joined by an approximating function, by which the entire frequency range can be covered adequately. The experimental results agree well with the theoretical results.
