Resumo

The problem considered is the prediction of aerodynamic heating from a fully developed, turbulent boundary-layer to an infinite, swept surface that is symmetrical with respect to the surface line dividing the flow. Predictions obtained from solutions of the momentum and energy integral equations for such flows are compared with experimental heat-transfer data obtained at free-stream Reynolds numbers per foot, free-stream Mach numbers, and sweep angles up to 4.3 × 107, 6.15, and 69°27', respectively. It is shown that the energy integral solution accurately and consistently predicts aerodynamic heating for such flows.
