HEAT TRANSFER IN FLOODED SHELL AND TUBE EVAPORATORS
Resumo
Heat transfer coefficients in flooded shell and tube evaporators deviate strongly from those found with single tubes, because of the inherent convection flow within
the shell wrapper. To explain this phenomenon the simplified case of two horizontal tubes, placed one above the other, is studied by adopting the Han/Griffith model for pool boiling, which permits a satisfactory correlation.
