Resumo

Heat transfer experiments were performed on absorbing evaporators of Concentration Difference Energy engine systems which work on enriched aqueous solution of inorganic salts absorbing the engine exhaust steam. Very high absorption heat transfer coefficients were obtained, presumably thanks to the boundary layer agitation induced by steam injection and sudden collapse of bubbles during absorption. An empirical correlation of absorption Nusselt number Nua and absorption Reynolds number Rea was derived. Furthermore it was shown that the high overall heat transfer coefficient achieved enables the absorbing evaporator to have an overall efficiency higher than 0.8 ~ 0.9.
