Resumo

A turbulence model originally developed for wall boundary layers and confined turbulent flows with heat transfer has been generalized to permit application to the round and plane jet. The model employs an ordinary differential equation for characteristic mixing length scale. The best results were obtained by also including the turbulence kinetic energy as a model parameter. The governing equations are solved by an implicit finite-difference procedure. Several comparisons between predictions and experimental data are presented for both the round and plane jet.
