Resumo

Data are presented for liquid carry-over and onset of flooding in air-water countercurrent flow across perforated plates and through a single tube. The effects of changes in flow area, number of paths, wetted perimeter, and liquid surface tension are shown for the plate tests, and the effects of bottom spray are shown for the single tube tests. Data are compared with conventional flooding correlations and with new correlations developed in [1], including a relationship between fluid injection rates and liquid-carry-over rates.
