Resumo

Condensation of oil-refrigerant mixtures on the outside of horizontal, low finned, copper tubes was investigated both theoretically and experimentally. The test apparatus used a constant pressure boiling and condensing system with oil sprayed into the refrigerant vapor above the test surface. Experimentally measured values of condensing heat transfer coefficients were determined for various oil concentrations and operating conditions. The condensing heat transfer coefficients for the finned surface were lower than predicted. The presence of oil was found to have a minimal effect when using the low finned tubes.
