Resumo

A carefully designed experimental set-up was fabricated to study the condensation process of Freon 12, condensing inside a horizontal tube. The operating parameters could be precisely controlled on this set-up. The effect of mass flow rate of the vapour, the condensation temperature and the temperature drop across the condensate film have been studied experimentally. A differential manometer using Freon 12 itself as the manometric substance has been used to study the pressure drops. The condensing pressure has been found to be practically constant during the condensation process.
